A few of my friends tried it out late last week, and they streamed it for the rest of us. It was certainly entertaining, and they seemed to have fun and enjoy it. Team-based games like that are right up our alley: Planetside 2, BattleBit Remastered, Eve, Barotrauma, Valehim, Project Zomboid, etc.

The concept is good, IMO. The visuals look good. Obviously having not tried it, I can't speak to the gunplay, but I didn't hear my friends complain at all. The TTK did seem pretty long though. And they definitely complained about the announcers. I all of them eventually turned off announcers.

The one "downside" for our group is certainly the 3-person max. The 6-10 of us enjoy playing games together when we can, so when parties are limited, we tend to pass them over from greater "adoption."

    Either way, looks promising.

I've seen some rumblings about the TTK and I personally don't see it. Not everything needs to be a one shot kill twitch shooter. Whenever an enemy got away from me with a bit of health, there was never a feeling of dissatisfaction with the gunfights, it was always more a sense of excitement and wanting to chase them down, calling out to my teammates where they were running to, how weak they were, where their buddies were, etc. TTK is perfect where it is because it shifts the focus away from the pure gunfights and more towards the tactics of using your gear, abilities, and movement to get the jump on someone.
We were in a match on Monaco trying to secure a big box of cash when a wall next to us gives out, little dude comes running in, swipes the cash, then breaks through a window and grapples away. We were flabbergasted in the best way, not a single feeling of disappointment or frustration, just pure awe of the textbook action movie sequence that this player just pulled off.
This game is unique, I really don't want it to become homogenized with all of the other low TTK shooters nowadays.

But since the teams are only 3-players against two other 3-player teams (at least in the mode I saw; maybe there are other modes with different numbers), then a higher TTK is probably better. It gives better survivability to the team. Losing one-third of your team because they got OHK'd by a lucky shot would hurt a lot. And like you said, it allows you to think more tactically.

This is one of the reasons my group sticks to Overwatch (we play customs when the party gets too big for matchmaking). The other being that Overwatch is far more amenable to non-aim intensive playstyles, which is big for us because some in our group don't really play first person shooters.

Gosh, I wish there were some options in that category. I have friends also who are bad shots and prefer other roles in competitive games.

That used to be the game for our group. that's how I know it worked for us when it worked.

When is the last time you guys gave it a shot? The game has been in a pretty good state for a while now, despite all the surrounding controversy.

I played for several hours yesterday and I really enjoyed the game, the level design especially, and the overall experience of a 3v3v3 objective mode. Where I felt the game could improve would definitely be in balance, the heavy class is mandatory that you have at least 1 or 2 in reasonably skilled lobbies. Their HP amount+environmental destruction+getting the RPG secondary(which should be nerfed) as well as the flamethrower which seems obnoxiously good, and if you have a Medium teammate, an ability to regain your massive health pool quickly....it really outstrips any ability for another team to quickly put you down. The light silenced pistol is very good, but unless they hit 100% headshots they'll lose, even with the AKM which is also great on medium, it's rare that I can kill a heavy in one magazine.

Also one team quitting makes it really not fun, as defender's advantage makes it an uninteresting fight (and if it's 3v3 the heavy is even more obnoxious when they aren't getting third parties) so I like that they've thought of this with only needing two objectives, so people mostly feel they aren't too far behind to win. Some of the cash out points are a bit difficult to push into, mostly the floating trains, that I think there should be a bit more movement options to contest. Other than that game plays really well, snappy, I love the gas canisters and flinging them, or bringing whole buildings down a la red faction guerilla

the RPG secondary is hilariously strong as someone who was playing Heavy last night. It got to the point where I would just take people to halfway and blast them without thinking about it.

Still, it seemed to have some really good ideas. The visuals were quite good, too. The audio design OTOH was pretty bad, but that might be based on the early version I played.

Not exactly excited about it, but neat that it's getting made.

It's got some good bones, but definitely needs to be cleaned up quite a bit IMO. Movement feels sluggish and with all the verticality, often buggy. The class/gun balance is weird. It takes more than a full mag of the SCAR to kill a heavy unless you're hitting all headshots. The mouse sensitivity for me is off, I'm at 1600 DPI and even 100% is way too slow. I had to go up to a higher DPI which I've never had to do even once in any other games.

The gameplay is fun but it's going to need a lot more polish and balance to get me to play more.
