Spec Ops: The Line is on sale at GOG for 80% off.
The game was just delisted for sale on Steam. That could be an indication that it will be removed from subsequent platforms shortly, so if you're interested in the game, it might be worth picking it up before it's gone.
The game is somewhat noteworthy in gaming history for spawning a lot of think pieces due to its themes and narrative. I read a book-length analysis of it back in the day!
If you want a Steam copy, it's possible to still buy a valid key from official stores like Fanatical or Humble and it should still activate. I can't give a 100% guarantee that it will, but I have successfully bought dozens of keys of delisted games, and I haven't ever had one fail to activate.
Also, it is possible that it could return to sale on Steam as well. Right now we don't know the reason it was delisted.
It is now confirmed that the game will be removed from sale everywhere, not just Steam:
I searched around a few different stores and the game was removed from all of them. Looks like it’s officially gone now.
Hello! Was busy celebrating turning one year closer to 30 this weekend, not that there are generally huge deals on weekends anyways!
Some carry-over:
The Humble AGDQ bundle is still going on for 4 more days of this writing, making my previous comment look silly: https://www.humblebundle.com/games/awesome-games-done-quick-2024
Van Helsing Anthology is still on sale: previous comment by @kfwyre
GMG shooters sale is still happening: previous discussion
Zachtronic's Infinifactory is free on Epic Games till Thurs
Humble's Soulslike bundle is still happening
Dude, wtf, why does Humble Bundle tell me about their shitty book bundles but not a soulslike bundle???
might wanna check your settings on your account, I know they have different notification settings for book and game bundles. I should probably change mine too since i don't care about most of their book/software bundles but sometimes you get some good ones like their Call of Cthulu bundle which is categorized as Books even though they're all technically games lol.
Well, thank you for sharing it! I'm glad I decided to open this post even though I usually ignore it!
:) I try to keep as many deals I can on these lists, and try to keep the chatter I see in discussion threads in mind for what I post. i.e. Normally I'm not a soulslike gamer but I know there's a lot of people here who like them so I post it!
Oh wow, thanks! That AGDQ bundle is actually quite nice. Def interested in Bayonetta, Celeste, Bloodstained, and Astalon
I'm sure this is beating a dead horse but I do hate how little Humble gives to charity by default for purchases. For a $10 purchase, only $0.50 by default was going to charity, thankfully they still allow you to manually adjust that.
It used to be that the slider for the Humble Tip could go all the way to 0, but sadly (understandably?) that's been long gone. Humble used to be just for charity and you could get some insane bundles from it and have it completely go to charity, that was always great.
IGN bought them and kept the cozy name and philanthropic image while simultaneously changing over things to be a lot less cozy and philanthropic.
Baldur's Gate I and II are 90% off together via Fanatical.
It's a good price for anyone who enjoyed III and is curious about the origins of the series.
Of note, BG 1 and 2 are not developed by Larian, who developed the Divinity series. BG1 was actually developed by Bioware funnily enough.
Oh, I really need to dive into older Bioware. I love ME1, need to get into their other, older stuff.
How do you feel about Divinity? I can't remember if it piqued my interests or not.
The bundle might be for you then! Baldur's Gate is Bioware's second game according to their wikipedia page. Note that the enhanced edition is done by a separate studio but I'm guessing the bones are still there.
I have a meme run of Divinity Original Sin 2 with a friend right now, and a normal run of Baldur's Gate 3 that I'm currently addicted to. I will say that BG3 itself has, imo, much better writing, and the combat is a bit more varied and fun, more classes, races, and "oh I can do that?" moments. DoS:2 is still extremely fun and definitely similar, but distinct enough to be fun in it's own rights.
I think DoS is a bit jankier understandably, and the systems itself are a bit less fleshed out. The story's a bit strange for sure, but it might also be because I actually play DnD so I understand the lore a bit better. My whole meme run with DoS:2 is just teleport cheese which might contribute to this line of thinking. Overall though I still think DoS:2 is worth it, it goes on sale for $17 relatively often (you can check this thread and I'll post if I see it!), and it's a good primer into BG3 especially if you don't wanna spend the full $60 right now.
Steam has a Quebec sale going on:
https://store.steampowered.com/sale/quebec2024
Notable: Dead Space Remake, Spiritfarer, Borderlands 3
There's also a Swedish sale going on:
https://store.steampowered.com/sale/GamesinSweden
Notable: V Rising, Core Keeper, Hotline Miami 1 and 2, Vermintide
An extra note, I've been seeing a lot of chatter about games that make you think and investigate (a la Obra Dinn and Chants of Sennar), I've heard very good things about Shadows of Doubt which is part of the Swedish sale!
Switch gamers:
Devolver has a new year sale (25 days after new years and 15 days before lunar new year?)
https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/sales-and-deals/#devolver-digital
Cult of the Lamb, Gungeon, My Friend Pedro, the new Monkey Island, are all great games if you've never played them
Humble has a "Controller Chaos" bundle here:
https://www.humblebundle.com/games/controllerd-chaos
$10 for Sunset Overdrive, Destroy All Humans, Ghostbusters, and Rain on your parade (pretty good value, nostalgia but I loveeeee Destroy All Humans, it's a fun little sandbox to run around in)
$14 for Maneater, Orcs Must Die 3, and No More Heroes (Good value if you want something in the below tier imo, I enjoyed the 10ish hours of Maneater I played and No More Heroes is a cult classic. Orcs Must Die 3 specifically I heard was pretty bad.)
Pretty good bundle if you want to play on your Steam Deck, make sure to change the tier to the actual value you wanna pay.
Epic Games has Doors - Paradox for freeeee:

Microsoft x Bethesda Lunar New Year Sale:
https://store.steampowered.com/sale/lunar2024
Master Chief Collection for $10 seems really good, plus a bunch of other games that I personally enjoy. Wasteland 3 if you're on the same CRPG kick that I'm on!
Humble has a Black History Month bundle! Idk how related to black history month it is but I'm away this weekend so not much time to figure that out:
https://www.humblebundle.com/games/exceptional-indie-allies
One Step from Eden is good, and I've heard good things on this site about Wytchwood. Looking at the beekeeping game too lol so if anyone has thoughts on it please lmk
The beekeeping game is probably going to be my reason for getting this bundle, because I quite enjoyed the demo. I'm not sure how much more there is to it, but it was a pleasantly casual little crafter. To me it had an Forager-but-way-more-chill feel.
What'd you like about One Step From Eden? I don't know anything about any of the other games in the bundle, but I do tend to enjoy deckbuilders.
I'm very biased because nostalgia wise, I really liked the old MegaMan BN games, haha. It doesn't do it as perfectly I think, but it scratches that itch, ya know?
Hmmm. I haven't picked those up in a long time, but I played (and loved) most of them as a kid. Good to know!
Fanatical's Platinum Bundle is up for Feb:
https://www.fanatical.com/en/pick-and-mix/platinum-collection-build-your-own-bundle
I'm looking at Cookie Cutter, and the Simulacra bundle personally, Ziggurat was fun but I might just pick up an extra copy of Friends vs Friends to gift to a friend.
Note that Maneater is already in an above posted bundle, technically cheaper here but really depends on the games you wanna buy.
I enjoyed the first Simulacra. It was a neat, spooky narrative game. Haven’t played the other two.
The standout here for me is Luck Be a Landlord. It punches way above its weight class. It’s a roguelite deckbuilder, but instead of accumulating cards, you choose the symbols that get added to the wheels of a slot machine. The symbols all have different ways of interacting, so you can try to direct the randomness in your favor by having items that synergize or cascade.
I know it doesn’t look super appealing on its face, but it’s deceptively engaging.
