The base game of Hydroneer is currently 50% off on steam thanks to the release of the first DLC for the game. It's a factory building game, but what distinguishes it from other factory games is that there is no inventory system. Whatever is in your hands is the inventory. Every way to address this is an element of the game; for example, you need to buy buckets, baskets, carts, etc. to take large amounts of things to other places. Overall it's one of my favourite factory builders, and the developer is friendly and approachable.

I love the Lets Game It Out guy's playthrough of this game, it's so ridiculous. Maybe it's time for me to pick it up!

Some people do find the lack of inventory to be a problem, but personally I think it makes it more interesting than a lot of other games in the same genre. Plus the developer is really easy to get access to; he's on Reddit and in discord and will answer questions when asked. One time I asked about something in the discord - just a general question, not a targeted ping or anything - and he answered almost immediately, and just seemed genuinely nice. That always goes a long way for me.

The lack of inventory is definitely appealing to me. I tend to bounce off of any games that involve significant menu-based inventory management, including most survival and crafting games, just because I find that aspect very tedious. And I've been wanting to try a factory-building game too, but didn't even consider the inventory aspect of them. If Hydroneer's inventory is handled in a different, more diegetic way, that sounds great.

Yes, on its a totally different, completely diegetic way, and I think it's one of the core things I really like about the game. I definitely recommend giving it a shot of the sound of that appeals to you. There are also things like upgraded carts and tractors to help with inventory moving.

There are definitely times where things get a bit tedious; I recently was trying to carry a bunch of conveyor belts into a mine and I wanted it to feel like an old timey mine, so there wasn't a single convenient hole to drop everything in front the surface, so I ended up carrying things down a few at a time using pallets. This leads to a slightly different suspension of disbelief sort of moment; you can carry any of the equipment or materials regardless of weight. I just brought up a 250,000 pound piece of iron, for example. But I still thing the lack of inventory is very charming.

Chiming in to say that I personally loved Inertial Drift. Its handling model was interesting and innovative -- one of the more creative things I've seen in the racing genre in a long time. It takes a bit of time to get used to for each car (as they all handle quite differently from one another), but once you do it's very satisyfing.

Worth noting: the game just had a big update/patch.

Among the changes are two that I think are pretty noteworthy. First, the gamepad controls were improved and the game was optimized, so it should theoretically run better on the Steam Deck. Second, choosing "easy" for the mission difficulty at the beginning of the game now gets you waypoints.

For anyone who hasn't played the game, it stayed faithful to the original (almost to a fault) in that the levels are labyrinthine mazes and you are given little direction about where to go and what to do next. It's easy to get lost or forget where you're supposed to be going. Adding waypoints is a major modernization and quality of life update.

Shadows of Doubt i think is at an all time low, I might pick that up.

Journey and Flower are also both on sale, two incredible games, I remember Journey made me cry like 10 years ago at the experience: https://store.steampowered.com/developer/annapurnainteractive/sale/skyearlyaccesscelebration
