World of Assassination has been my recent obsession, the murder simulation puzzle box style of game is super addicting and very rewarding to learn. The kills are really creative, and it's endlessly replayable to score chase, or play new contracts, or the new(not anymore but still) Freelancer mode. For less than $30 I think it's a total steal, honestly.

I used to buy my games through GOG because I like their DRM-free stance and also like to support the underdog, but Steam won me back with superior Linux support. I will still buy GOG games that Steam doesn’t have though, so I always browse this during sales to see what’s on offer.

Similar note, apparently Beyond Good and Evil was delisted from Steam this morning, but still up on GoG: https://www.gog.com/en/game/beyond_good_and_evil

I'm not an expert on the technical details and you may already be aware, but the Heroic Launcher has ever-improving support for GOG and I've had pretty good experiences with Proton there. Like with Steam, you can install custom versions of Wine/Proton GE, and most of the time It Just WorksTM.

Heroic also has a "add games to Steam by default" feature, but that gives me headaches about a quarter of the time.

Back 4 Blood is 90% off on Steam, including the Deluxe and Ultimate editions. Deluxe has all the content DLC, while Ultimate has some extra cosmetics. Deluxe is the better deal unless you’re really wanting the “complete” game (there’s no way to get those extra cosmetics outside of the Ultimate edition).

This game gets a bit of a bad rap, and that’s fair, but my friends and I also had fun with it. Would I recommend it at full price? Nope. Would I recommend it at 90% off? If you’ve got friends to play it with, sure!

Going in with $60 expectations is bound to disappoint, but going in with $6 expectations makes it a lot easier to enjoy.

I actually played this one! I really like it a lot, it's a very chill tile puzzle game. It's very cute and relaxing, and the narrator has a very pleasant tone.

no problem! if you want any more suggestions, I met the writer of "Be Like a Crow" at PAX East this year, and I really enjoyed his energy and passion for RPG's. I recommend his stuff too! He has a couple of solo RPG's that are really well written:

The other writer who's work I've read a bit was Hypnos, on itch.io as well! I think I talked to him a couple of times on Reddit and he seemed pretty cool too:
