They can't afford a Switch 2, but they're still looking for new (more mature) experiences on their only console.
Plus the Switch 2 just came out. It's barely a month old. Consoles tend to get games for a while after a successor comes out, if only because a bunch of those games were already far in development...

Edit: correction, one game released for PlayStation 2 in 2020 called Hermes, but that is the only published release I can find between 2013 and then.
