As a linux gamer this part has me feeling apprehensive: I really hope the Proton folks are on top of it.

Only processors supported on Windows 11 will be supported by us.
Only graphics cards with ongoing active driver support for gaming on Windows 11 will be supported.
I don’t know about the technical details, but the new boss of CDProjekt has been talking about how he wants to make GOG work natively on Linux. It would be contradictory if the studio didn’t work...

It would be contradictory if the studio didn’t work on making sure that their games work on Linux as well
CDProjekt sold GOG to one of its founders back in December and as I understand it no longer has any control over the store. Are you perhaps referring to the new owner of GOG who has indeed been...

Are you perhaps referring to the new owner of GOG who has indeed been quite vocal about his dislike of Windows (but has no control over what CDProjekt does)?
Way to put my foot in my mouth lol. Yeah, I meant to write GOG instead of CDProjekt, don't know how I made that mistake. Just a note though, he's one of the major shareholders of CDPR (second...

Just a note though, he's one of the major shareholders of CDPR (second biggest IIRC), so he has some control over CDPR.

Edit: GOG also allows you to download older versions, looks like they're keeping an older version release channel as a Steam "beta". So at least it shouldn't break anything already owned, though no clue what version their beta channel "classic" from Steam is on. (SoL on EGS)

An unexpected announcement, but a very welcome one to be sure. CDPR have even teamed up with Fool's Theory to get some original Witcher devs back in the mix.

I finished The Witcher 3 and it's two DLCs, but CDPR is now on my permanent "no-buy list". Sociopathic management abusing workers (crunch + alpha-quality C2077 release blamed on workers) and refusing to acknowledge the transphobia in the C2077 game and the promo campaign. Nope, not gonna play this one.
Happy that some employees managed to build their own studio with Fool's Theory, I'll check-out their other work.
I have hundreds of hours of playtime in Cyberpunk 2077 but never came across anything that I took to be transphobic, is there anything specific you're referring to here? The crunch situation was...

The crunch situation was very bad, and CDPR management rightfully received a lot of backlash over it. Thankfully, more recent interviews with employees suggest there's been significant changes for the better in the work culture there, e.g., by employee's account, an anti-crunch policy was introduced and actually enforced during Phantom Liberty's development. A union has also since been setup. If the point of boycotts are to highlight and punish bad practices then shouldn't corrective actions also be acknowledged?

Indeed, you are absolutely right. Make that two feet in mouths.

Yeah I'm not worried about breaking what I've got but rather not being able to play new stuff.
There were Linux native versions for every other Witcher 3 DLC, so I don't know that proton comes into play here.

I could have sworn there was a native Linux version, but I am not seeing it on GOG now which is where I buy all of their games.

Is this going to affect my romance option at the end of Blood and Wine? Asking for a friend.
