If Agent 47 has a charisma score of 10, Bond pretty much has a 18+. The game is relatively linear but the set pieces are HUGE, it feels a lot like Uncharted for me.

There's a mode afterwards called TacSim where it's a bit closer to the sandboxy levels of Hitman, so there's definitely replayability when it comes down to it. Plus ioi is REALLY good at post game content so I'm not too worried. I'd say the game is definitely worth checking out if you like Hitman WoA but honestly, if you were a fan of Uncharted it might actually be a lot closer to that.
I'd say it's a 9/10 for me! Back to Lego Batman I go!

I'm coming fresh off of a replay of RDR2, which has almost the exact opposite approach to gun battles so it's taking me a while to adjust to the big action sequences. Evidently the concept of flanking your opponent wasn't discovered until the sometime after 1911 and I am now paying the price for that. My only critique so far is that the training portion DID NOT prepare me for the first mission lol.
Really wanted to pick this up as a fan of Hitman but I'm concerned about all the reviews mentioning how linear it is. A big part of Hitman's appeal is just how many ways you can tackle a single level…

I'm only on my 1st playthrough, so who knows what I'll find on repeat attempts, but yeah I would expect a more linear game.
That doesn't make it bad IMO, in fact I think the game benefits from it.
It somehow nails the movie+game feel so seamlessly it's impressive. The linearity just adds to that feel. Its like a curated 007 adventure that you're actively a part of.
You make choices, you do things your own way to a degree, but the linearity guides the action. You're on the 007 theme ride vs a car in the city. Sure, you can't just go anywhere, but there are reason people go to theme parks - they're fun!
The strength of the game, in my opinion, isn't so much the options part like Hitman but rather the fusion of gameplay and especially the characters, dialogue, and feel of the game which just nail the Bond vibe/feel for you as the player.
I fully trust the Bond franchise in their hands 100%.
Additionally, you don't really get disguises the same way as hitman. They are sometimes present but not really - and def not the same way as hitman.
You can go back and replay a specific level once you've passed it and there are multiple ways to tackle an objective. I plan on doing that once I finish the story, which is pretty short by modern...

To anyone in the know, was the recent news about its DRM a deal breaker for you if you were originally looking forward to it? I'll say, it looks like the most ordinary release I think I've seen. I...

I'll say, it looks like the most ordinary release I think I've seen. I can't help but see something like Splinter Cell Conviction with more color. I'm mildly interested but am going to wait until its on sale.

And other non-story modes with different assassination targets… I really enjoy the roguelike Freelancer mode. Is there anything like that in 007 First Light? What mechanics (besides whatever self-directed goals you set on your own) does the game offer to keep each stage fresh after you’ve completed it?
I basically have the recommended specs and I'm worried about how it will run. If anyone has a 3070 and plays at 1440p, I would love to know your experience!

There's a lot of fog and smoke (typical stealth stuff) that slows it down but otherwise it's very good.

That's seemingly helpful, thank you!
