He has every right to shut the servers down at any moment he doesn't want to keep it up, in the same way that someone knitting a scarf has every right to stop knitting it if they get bored.
That he shopped around for a buyer is already more than anyone deserves. Maybe NexusMods will run it to the ground. Oh well, that's life.

Steamdb was never sustainable. It's not a company, it doesn't have revenue, it doesn't have employees. Something that's free, and actually free, in the sense it's just burning money from the creator, you should never expect to exist indefinitely as-is.
