But it never managed to give anyone a good enough reason to migrate over, especially not after WoW picked up some steam again.
Honestly, I think WildStar would have stood a chance if they'd have fought to get it on a console, personally. It looks and feels like a console RPG, from what I've heard about it.

From my own experiences I can't say I readily agree, it has a lot of DNA from WoW (for good reason) so I'm not sure it would gel well with a console control scheme where buttons are limited. Yes...
From my own experiences I can't say I readily agree, it has a lot of DNA from WoW (for good reason) so I'm not sure it would gel well with a console control scheme where buttons are limited. Yes it put a lot of emphasis on movement but that wasn't the only dimension to it's combat, it still followed WoW's "a hundred skills, get your macros ready" combat.
(To clarify: I played Wildstar for two months at launch but didn't stick around, precisely because I was bored of WoW's combat and it was far too similar)
This is extremely sad. I've only played the game in the beta, admittedly, but I greatly enjoyed my time with it - I didn't continue on release purely because my laptop didn't perform very well...

Aside from that, Carbine studios were extremely loyal to their fanbase and really tried their best with the game post-release, afaik. It's a huge shame to see a studio like that disappear.
