RDR2 and God of War are just recurring themes across the entire awards and kind of steal the show. Most deserved award IMO: Celeste, for Best Indie Game. What a beautiful, beautiful game that is....

Most deserved award IMO: Celeste, for Best Indie Game. What a beautiful, beautiful game that is.

Least deserved award: Overwatch for Best Esports Game. I love Overwatch but given the state of the game right now especially in the esports scene, it does not deserve that title.

What game do you think deserves it instead?

Overwatch is the other one, but I'm not actually sure I've played it in 2018. There are several new heroes since last time I played it, and the prospect of relearning the game is kind of daunting.

Maybe I should get God of War once I'm finished with RDR2, see if it lives up to the hype. Still hoping for a Linux version of Into the Breach.

I'm not sure how you missed it, but in my eyes god of war was far superior to RDR2. Dunkey does a good review of RDR2 and where it's pitfalls are - it starts fantastically strong and the story...

I'm not sure how you missed it, but in my eyes god of war was far superior to RDR2. Dunkey does a good review of RDR2 and where it's pitfalls are - it starts fantastically strong and the story writing is great, but it flounders after a while and like most rockstar games just keeps going for a lot longer than it needs to.

God of war, on the other hand, has fantastic writing from start to finish (except for one small section where the kid is insufferable). One of the things I really enjoyed about it was revisiting the old mythos that I read about so much as a child and young adult.

eSports, streamer entertainment, story-driven AAA games and innovation/art in indie games. And ads. 95% of the airtime are ads. I don't know how on earth that should all fit into one show and it...
