(Edit: Now that I'm looking at it on the big screen, that's what it is. Seems to be the protagonist's day job? Well, the venators have to go somewhere.)

Interesting setting they chose. The "trust no one" part makes me think it could be a decent RPG, but they announced it as an action adventure, so that makes me think it'll have the RPG-qualities of a Far Cry. Bummer. I'd love a new KOTOR.

So say we all. It's truly a shame that Disney sold EA the exclusive rights to make Star Wars franchise games... just imagine what we could have had if they had opened it up to Indie developers...

There will probably be RPG influences and light implementations like so many titles have, probably some minor character customization. Stuff like that are a necessity in all types of games and genres these days, for reasons i believe we all here on tildes know are pretty obvious.

We can only hope Disney decides to sell the rights to other developers in the future to really get a Star Wars game we all deserve and be hoping for since titles like KOTOR.

of note: EA has stated on twitter that there will be "No microtransactions. No loot boxes. And no, we won't be adding them." for this game so it looks like consumer sentiment has at least knocked that off the board for the time being. now, if EA wants to imitate the stereotype a lot of online consumers expect of them this would be a covert way of pushing a DLC pie slice model or something similar to microtransactions but--for now, at least--i'm inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they've decided to cave on at least one thing that might eat into their profits just for a slightly better product.

Wasn't there a rumor of Bob Iger making a call to EA after the loot box fiasco?, it could be possible they got an ultimatum.

Also, I have no problem with (substantial) DLC whatsoever. By denying the "micro" part from "transactions, this might actually mean big, juicy DLC missions which can be great if done well (and easily ignored if not).

Cinematic trailer tells me nothing of the game. Kind of useless to put a game trailer up, if you do not show any gameplay. I would not get my hopes up for this.
