It's amusing to read this because the Sega Saturn controller is typically considered to be the best controller for fighters and 2D games in general, but the article doesn't mention it at all. Honestly, the guy who loved the analog triggers on the Dreamcast should have really tried out the Saturn 3D controller. It's honestly the best of both worlds, with the soft easy actuation on buttons, analog triggers, and what I still consider to be the best analog thumbstick ever made; it's got far more travel than any thumbstick I have ever used (which is great for precision movements), it's got a deep concave impression for your thumb, and it's silky smooth because it's a magnetic joystick.

But it's a bit of a waste of time since everyone knows that arcade buttons are the best buttons.

As a side note, one of the biggest thing I have missed since Sega stopped making hardware is magnetic analog controls. Are hall effect sensors really that expensive? Modern mechanical pot switches just don't feel as nice as the stiff spring on a magnetic joystick and triggers. If anyone knows of any decent controllers with this feature, let me know.

Does anyone have a link to unblock the subscription notification? I tried it on 3 browsers on my phone and none worked.

No, there's nothing wrong with submitting paywalls, and they should be submitted when they're the original source of the story. I pay for subscriptions for multiple sites that use paywalls, and so do many others. The only reason those sites can pay people to write the articles is because some of us pay for subscriptions.

If you don't want to pay, there are lots of options for circumventing most paywalls, but Tildes doesn't need to do it for you. Eventually you will have the ability to filter out topics that link to certain sites, and at that point you can just set up a filter for any paywalled sites that you don't want to see.

Ironically, at least to me, that topic was deleted by the original inquirer. There were lots of useful tips in there though. This question does come up regularly though, I wonder what can be done...

This question does come up regularly though, I wonder what can be done for that...

I should probably just add this question/answer to a page somewhere in the Docs that can be linked to when someone asks.
