I've been playing a few more rounds of this over the last couple of nights (just single-player so far).
A question I have that I'm hoping some of the more-experienced players here could help answer: how do you recognize when you're having a "good run"? I've played quite a few other roguelike-style games, but I don't feel like I have a good handle on when things are going well or not in RoR2.
Are there certain items that you look to find early to feel like you're set up to do well? Finishing stages by a certain time? Something else?
I'm not pro at the game but with the commando having some boosted attack speed (common syringe object), some crit-related object, the ukulele (will make some electric arcs between enemies) could...
I'm not pro at the game but with the commando having some boosted attack speed (common syringe object), some crit-related object, the ukulele (will make some electric arcs between enemies) could be a great start !
But I would say, on the early stages, explore a lot (but quick so the difficulty does not raise much), and find a lot of items ! Also use shrines if you have faith in your luck !
The more you'll play and the more you'll see which builds are the most effective (:

I think it will depend on your character. One thing I did was look at the achievements for each of the characters and strive towards completing them. In general, the first few stages I get 2-3 items and then hit up the teleporter. Once I get to stage 5, rarer items are more readily available.
Loader is my favorite class as the mobility is unparalleled to other characters. You can look up a tier guide for each character to see what items gel well with their capabilities and which you should avoid.
I think a good run is subjective based on what you are trying to do. But in general, if I get to a point where I feel like a god that can't be killed, I am satisfied with the run. Sometimes this is a 30+ minute run.

For me, the more durability the better. Damage is great, but you can't do damage if you're dead. So a good start for me involves getting a few teddy bears, topaz broaches, maybe a portable shield, and red meat (or other healing). A few teddy bears makes a huge difference.
The damage side is more character specific, but attack rate helps all of them, as does crits.
Also, if you have the artifact of Command, you can play with items and figure out what works best. Then when you play without it you know what to keep an eye out for.
Wow there's a lot of stuff they crammed into that release. I've enjoyed playing through early access, their core gameplay is solid. The stuff they've been adding on top of it is just icing. Since...

Can't wait to explore all their ??? additions this evening!
It looks like they tried to tweak out the Immortal God stage players reach when they collect enough items. I'm also stoked about there being an endgame. There's too much to comment on, but it all...

I absolutely loved the first episode and the two OSTs are really a good fit for the game. The switch to the 3D is really well done ! I enjoyed it a lot on their free weekend, it is sitting at the...
