Xbox Game Pass really is ridiculous. I always think about this Alanah Pearce video now: Xbox Game Pass is insane. It's crazy that one of the major companies is doing this, and even more so now that they've gotten EA to team up with them on it for no extra cost.

It was a bit of an impulse-purchase, as I'm trying to cut down on all these damn subscription services. Ah, well...

But, yea, Xbox Game Pass is def the one to get, if you're going to get any. My only gripe is that the games don't exist on the service as long as I'd like them to, especially for games that require a larger-than-average time commitment. Oh, and the Xbox App has a cludgy user-interface.

It doesn't seem to be very common overall, but yes. Developers/publishers don't really sign indefinite agreements for this kind of thing, so games are probably always added for a limited period...

The Xbox app gives you a couple weeks warning when a game's going to become unavailable, and there's also a "Leaving Soon" list on their site (I can't link to it directly, but you can click it in the sidebar). Their blog posts about upcoming games usually have a list at the bottom as well - here's the September one, there's a "Leaving Soon" section at the bottom of the post.

This looks like flicking great value. I hope that my saves can be migrated across from my Origin account, but no biggie if they can't - I'll just reinstall those games and be happy with the excuse...

Wow, they're really trying to get people on this. It seems like their plan is to selling an xbox that costs $299 + $25/mo. At first I was like "wow $100 every 4 months?", but then I realized that...

Wow, they're really trying to get people on this. It seems like their plan is to selling an xbox that costs $299 + $25/mo. At first I was like "wow $100 every 4 months?", but then I realized that it's just the cost of 5 games a year... But you can play basically anything on the platform any time you want. And the next gen was rumored to have $70 games so it's actually closer to 4/year. Phenomenal deal.

If I didn't prefer Indie games I would hop on this so fast.

If they had a $5-7/mo verison that didn't inclue AAA games I'd grab that in a heartbeat (indie games cost around $10-30 usually, usually $20 or $25). In fact that's basically what discord nitro used to be and it was awesome, I found a few games I still play today (I bought them on steam once nitro disappeared).
