I can't believe people are writing these long essays to answer the question. The simple answer is that you are never, under any circumstances, obligated to date someone. It can be because you don't like their personality, you don't like the way they look, you don't like a member of their family, whatever. The decision of who to date is yours alone and absolutely nobody has the right to tell you that you must date someone, even if the reason you want to stop dating them is because they are trans.

Any college kids listening...now is the time to start fighting back. Go Robinhood on this messed up world of ours. Wreak havoc like you have nothing more to lose, because the sad reality is that it's true. If nobody fights, the status quo wins.

Frankly, this is a little ridiculous. You still have food, fresh water, and shelter. People who actually have nothing to lose will die in a day if they don't do anything about it (and there are lots of people in this situation all over the world, right now - this isn't some relic of the past)

Also, if you think we have nothing new or exciting coming our way... Look into VR and neuralink (neuralink is not close to their goal of a chip that goes on your hair and interfaces with your brain but they're making some incredible advancements). Brand-new technology is coming our way, unlike anything we've ever seen before.

Stop paying close attention to reality TV politics and you'll start to see the amazingness that's around you. It's a cancer that destroys your mental health.

I can't believe how poorly the city handled this situation to be frank. From rushing reopening before we even hit self-defined metrics, which spiked infection rates further and kept us out of in person school, to not using the months and months of time we had to prepare for this.

I think this is a little unfair - hear me out. I recently watched this video https://youtu.be/SVmEXdGqO-s?t=48 (it's 10 minutes long but the part I'm talking about is only about a minute long and it's very clear when he changes the subject) and it kind of opened my eyes to how this kind of thinking doesn't really make sense. If we had new information that made it clear that covid wasn't a big deal (remember: for a long time we had no concrete information, just speculation and the desire to err on the side of caution), people would have been up-in-arms about how the school district just spent x hundreds of thousands of dollars on preparing for a future that never happened. People in the past had to balance the information they had (potential future pendemic? maybe nothing?) with their options (spend hundreds of thousands of dollars, or wait). They had no way to be sure they would actually need all this equipment.

Wow, they're really trying to get people on this. It seems like their plan is to selling an xbox that costs $299 + $25/mo. At first I was like "wow $100 every 4 months?", but then I realized that it's just the cost of 5 games a year... But you can play basically anything on the platform any time you want. And the next gen was rumored to have $70 games so it's actually closer to 4/year. Phenomenal deal.

If I didn't prefer Indie games I would hop on this so fast.

If they had a $5-7/mo verison that didn't inclue AAA games I'd grab that in a heartbeat (indie games cost around $10-30 usually, usually $20 or $25). In fact that's basically what discord nitro used to be and it was awesome, I found a few games I still play today (I bought them on steam once nitro disappeared).

This is cool, but if you're using a CPU that was made after 2008, it has a L0 backdoor built in to the CPU (Intel Management Engine or TrustZone). If your threat model includes being targeted through windows update or other official microsoft channels (as in, not programs that you downloaded yourself), this really won't do much.

It's so interesting how we've actually made it to the part of climate change people have been warning us about for the last 50+ years. We've made a lot (a lot) of scientific progress, but unfortuantely I don't think we're anywhere near being able to deal with this - mother nature is just too strong. I'm curious to see how this continues in the next 10-15 years now that the effects are so much more visible
