Great! This was such a bad PR move for them with new hardware barely out the door

Sounds like Xbox LIVE Gold will soon be double the price in some markets.

Going forward, new pricing will be 1-month for $10.99, 3-months for $29.99, and 6-months for $59.99, or your local market equivalent.

They should have added the 1 year plan that is now killed off there, just to show the full context of this change. 1 year: N/A (Previously $60, $5/month)

This is deservedly getting backlash and honestly the price hike doesn't seem justified. My pet theory is that this was a condition made with the higher ups to get the funding for Microsoft's studio acquisitions but we'll never know. Otherwise it made the most sense for gold to be free and try and push people towards paying for game pass. But this seems like a terrible move and could be the biggest hit to them this generation even if they try and course correct in a year or two.
