And jeez these environments. I didn't know if they could top themselves after the last one. It's incredible!

I notice Aloy is going to have the Samus problem though, where for some reason she's leaving all the imba gear I picked up in the last game behind. Why would she ever part with the pseudo-magical force-field armor?

I watched this live yesterday whole I was with my family (we're all huge fans of the first game, including my own mother).

This game looks like it solved a lot of the problems of the last one, and I like the way its really digging into the technological side of things (plus! No more random yellow bars that were just out of place, now you can see the points you can climb via your Holo, a much better method). They made a brief mention on skill trees, something the original was sorely lacking. The combat looks so smooth and liquid, and the human enemies look to actually attack properly, unlike the first game where they mostly just walked back and forth sometimes attacking. There appears to be more variety as well (in both combatants, and more importantly, landscapes).

I was excited for the first game from the first trailer, and now I'm even more excited for the sequel.

The game was meant to feel a bit soulless and make you feel alienated at first, you are after all an exile. But the rest of the game is really great, and the lore hidden around is fantastic.

      1. Except the desert part, that's a bit empty for understandable reasons.
