    I'm actually glad because the open beta of this game was truly abysmal. Utterly boring and grindy gameplay with some vaguely MTG flavor. Day9 talks about the issues with it. It's really not great, would have worked much better as like a Heroes of Might & Magic tactics game or a Roguelike for what they were going for.?

    I don't understand how bad WotC actually seems to be at game design. Their D&D game was also terribly reviewed and even MtG: Arena is objectively a really really bad, buggy, resource hogging application for what it does.

      MTG: Arena had me excited, played it for a good month or so until I just got bored of it. It didn't introduce anything new and didn't even try to feel like a Magic game. I was really disappointed...

      MTG: Arena had me excited, played it for a good month or so until I just got bored of it. It didn't introduce anything new and didn't even try to feel like a Magic game. I was really disappointed and it really turned me off of anything MTG related.

It’s almost like they built a backup plan into the game because they weren’t sure it would be successful. I wonder how much WotC were involved in monetization decisions.
