I'm of both sides. I can see how, after being a public official during the first lockdown, one might say "fuck it, they hate me for trying to keep them safe, just let people die." but on the other hand this is a third hand account of what Cummings told Vallance. I can easily see how a finance minister's words can get telephone gamed into "Just let them all die" considering how gung ho all... Those types were about the economy during COVID. I hate to give the benefit of the doubt to Sunak but can we get more than a third party diary entry?

Wouldn't surprise me. But you know what's worse? He won't be ousted from his place now nor resign in shame.

He's counting down the days until the out-vote anyway. I'm not betting my first born on a non-tory government being in place at the next election, but I'd stake a hand made lemon sponge cake on it.
