I've started going to the gym for weight training 3x times a week almost exactly 3 months ago now and haven't missed a single one yet, a fact that I'm rather proud of. I feel like it has definitely been a good choice, I feel a lot stronger and putting in the effort in this area has also positively influenced some other areas in my life.

Yesterday, I also had a bouldering class for the first time and while it was a lot of fun, when I left I was just a puddle of sweat and today my arms are so sore.

Resumed rock climbing and added yoga each week. Let me tell you, doing three or four climbs and an hour of fairly gentle yoga has me wrecked. Not in a bad way, though I'm definitely choosing easier climbs knowing that I'm not done when I'm done climbing. It's fun. I'm enjoying yoga more than I have in the past, as I'm being able to carry over my self-challenging perspective over from climbing. It really doesn't matter that other people are way stronger and more flexible than I am. The question is whether I show up and do my personal best.

Anyone here tried PlanetFitness? I’ve heard bad things but it’s the only reasonably priced gym in my area so I’m thinking of giving it a go

I haven’t tried it, but my issue would be with the equipment they have. They don’t have any barbells, so if you wanted to do exercises that use those, you’d be out of luck. If you wanted to do cardio or only use the strength training machines, it seems like it would be fine.

They do have smith machines which can do most of the things that you can do with barbells in a somewhat more safe way.

The one thing to know is that for the summer break they are letting kids in for free, so that might make you want to hold off for now.

I've been back to lifting and running regularly (not running as much as i'd like).

I had staph and then dengue.

And genuinely, it's the greatest thing mentally. I have been getting a lot of comments of friends and people I meet at the gym/muay thai.

The funniest thing is when I tell people I am vegan and people act surprised. But it's just effecting so many aspects of life. I quit my job (Might still freelance a few hours for them) and I just know I'd feel so much more stressed - But I just feel calm. I feel confident. It's really not just physical
