Another interesting upcoming change is that the first nonprofit drug manufacturer is supposed to be coming online soon: civica Rx. It was born out of a lot of hospitals being very frustrated by the price gouging of several critical drugs. They have yet to release what drugs they will be making (for competitive reasons). I think they have great potential to break up monopolies in manufacturing.

Granted, you run into the realm of snake oil if there is no verification of what you're doing, and nobody but yourself can guarantee your safety when you're kitbashing meds, but if third party insulin, hormones, epipens or whatever can get into the hands of the people who need them, then let the free market do it's thing.
