Early on they ask "Can we now, without provoking all the usual dismissals, acknowledge how powerful and transformative an event it was?"
And I guess I cant really, because I didnt know them before 2011 and I dont know them now, nor do I know anyone else who was a part of OW. So I dont really have any frame of reference for how much it affected the people who were a part of it.
But Ill take their word for it. It certainly seems like it was a big deal for them, and I have no reason to suspect them of lying.

I just wanted a good job, a good life, for my education to mean something, and I'm seeing young people same age as I was then, today, who are in the same exact situation wanting the same things. This time it's not just the liberal arts majors, though, it's the compsci majors working at Starbucks.

A lot of people who were part of that movement had an influence on my views now and that movement had an influence on them. It kind of sucks how the world ended up, and they were talking about all of that ahead of time and trying to take some sort of action against the wealth inequality and police state we're facing now.
