The title is more optimistic than I'm likely to be here... the general attitude towards this law in the trans community here has been quite negative in my understanding. Here is a link to a youtube video by a German trans person discussing the new law that was shared in a groupchat I'm in for English-speaking trans people in Berlin. While Germany desperately needed a change from the old system, which went beyond barbaric to downright absurd, this law has a number of huge shortcomings that make it hard to celebrate.
