That being said, I don't blame you for sharing the view, the framing of the hump in your window is perfect!
Oh, I'm not overly concerned. It's incredibly difficult to get to where I am, but I definitely appreciate the thought. If someone does manage to make it to my place, they should make sure to bring...

It's actually a one room house at this point. 16x16, so pretty small. Im going to put a small kitchen table and chairs in front of my window so that I can have my coffee and meals, and write while staring at Camel Hump. This window is on my north side. Honestly, If I could photoshop anything about my view, it would be that my boneyard and other random construction etc stuff wasn't showing. But that will change when the house is done and I'm able to move in.
TBH I did not expect much clicking on this link, but wow, great window and view! I'd be curious to hear the decisions that went into moving off-grid in such a small house. Seems very hard, but...

I've talked about it other places on Tildes, but I love talking about my home so I'm happy to reshare! I lived on the road for about a decade and toured all over the lower 48. I found this place...

I lived on the road for about a decade and toured all over the lower 48. I found this place near the beginning of that journey and ended up returning every year for longer and longer periods of time. After about 5 years I bought my land. Now I finally live here full time and get to build my home!
Where I live is incredibly remote, but has a rich and vibrant community and culture. A lot of art, music, geology, archeology, biology, etc. Live music every night. Community events regularly. I'm actually the local librarian and the lead singer of my band. I also play with all the local musicians on the porch twice a week.
Everyone who decides to live here is in it. Those in town mostly have "city" water and electricity, but everyone out on the ranch where I live use solar and water catchment. There's definite challenges, but real freedom and connection to the land and eachother. And we're all in it together and got eachothers backs.
Many folk down here specialize in building. There are no building codes here so people have tried everything imaginable. Some of it works and some of it doesn't. My house is being built by dear friends who've built dozens of houses over the last 20 years, so I get the best of the best, which is such a gift.
I can go on and on, but I gotta run and do stuff. I'm happy to answer any further questions though! Not even sure I answered the first one really...but I love talking about the place I love!
That is such a great view, congrats.
I'm getting my house built, and they just got my picture-window put in yesterday!
What a STUNNING view! That’s going to be such a delight to have in your new home. Best of luck with the rest of the build!
Thank you! It's a little 16x16 off grid house, but it'll be perfect for me. The window definitely makes it!
That is such a nice looking window (and an incredible view out it of it!)
I can already feel the tension brewing with your eventual next door neighbor.. congrats until then though!

wow love! what i'd do for a little cozy nook with a fancy window looking out a beautiful view. make sure to stare out of it for me!
Oh, I will! Also, I'll make sure to post more pictures of the house and whatnot as time goes on.
The composition of the window and view are straight out of a Myst game (minus the rubble). Nice job.
