    My 11 year old baby

We've been having a rough couple months where she's been having chronic UTIs, she has kidney disease so apparently this is par for the course. She lost weight and she's just struggling. Hoping we start doing better soon or we'll have to make the hard choices but don't want to push her too long either.

She's a rat terrier, corgi mix who keeps a tighter schedule than us! Such a wonderful personality and has been with us through so much.

I’m sorry you have to go through that. That period in a dog’s life is such a rough tone. Your girl looks beautiful and I hope she will have a happy end of the road 💜

Meet my disgustingly photogenic cat, Floof. He is a total asshole but he gets away with it due to how handsome he is.

No, his eyes are yellow. Occasionally they get super wide in what we call his crazy eyes and he runs around, standing on his hind legs grabbing at door-sills, trying to climb to the ceiling.

A couple of weeks ago my son was walking his dog one night when he heard some whimpers coming from the small dog park at his apartment complex.

He found an abandoned dog too weak to stand. The poor thing was emaciated and looked pitiful. He ended up taking the dog to the local 24 hr emergency vet. Turns out the dog had parvo and was on deaths door.

But that dog is strong and I'm glad say two weeks ( and one very large vet bill ) later Lucky the dog is eating everything in sight, pooping and peeing like a boss and generally acting the way a dog should. She truly got lucky that night.... my son is a big hearted guy who, even though he is just now digging himself out of a covid fueled financial hole, he couldn't leave that dog to die.

I guess we got a few things right raising him up lol.

Anyway Lucky seems to be out of the woods and thriving. If she keeps on pretty soon we wont be able to see her ribs!

What a beautiful story, brought a tear to my eye. I'm glad the world lined up to make that story possible and thanks for sharing something so wonderful!

Spouse texts me with what the fur kids get up to when I'm on the road for work. Why Lilly is not an indoor-only cat. Dash is unlocking new cat achievements, like sleeping in laps.

How very adorable! That door photo feels like it was taken at the perfect moment right before chaos may have occurred.

Dash is just a Golden Lab in a cat suit.

It's pretty astonishing how two rescues from similarly horrifying environments (drug addicts/cat hoarder houses) turned out so differently.

I'm still wittering and fretting over everything as a first time dog owner. He's had some issues over the last 3 weeks or so with freaking out at strangers but apparently this is very common for the breed at this age. With consistent training we've started to see some gradual improvements.

We're enrolled in puppy classes and the first one last week felt like a complete disaster, I was ready to leave in tears after 5 minutes! We went to the second one yesterday though and it was a million times better, fingers crossed for more of that.

I made him a bit of what I call "pork slop" to supplement his dry food. Slow cooked pig's trotters shredded up with pork liver, pork shoulder, turnip, kale, apple and pear. I fill a kong with it as a treat and he LOVES it.
