We went through a sexual revolution, the traditional family dynamic was blown out of the water over fifty years ago. Anyone can have a career and be a parent regardless of sex, class or gender.
Except of course men.
I come across this constantly in my life as a parent. When I show up to pick up my son from preschool I am treated by the moms of other kids like I am some creepy predator (clean cut guy, not creepy at all) just because I am not a mom. When I was struggling last year to support our household on my own I found thousands of resources to help out working mothers and single mothers. None for fathers.
Rawr.
EDIT: sorry, kinda ranty. Just got off my third fourteen hour day in a row. Not trying to be aggressive, just too tired to form well worded sentences.
I’m not in any situation similar to yours to say I know what it feels like, but I’m sorry, man, that sucks. I can imagine how frustrating that could be. I had a friend in high school who’s mom...

I had a friend in high school who’s mom worked as a judge, made excellent money, and worked a lot. His dad worked at a grocery store and was the one to pick up the kids, take them to soccer practice, cook, etc. It was certainly atypical in the area I lived, but I loved seeing how happy the family was and how that slight change in socially accepted roles wasn’t even a topic of talk around them. Reading your post made me wonder for the first time how much shit this guy has gotten and how much stuff he had to deal with similar to what you mentioned in your post.
Anyways, I don’t have too much to add, but I’m sorry you have to deal with that. It may sound like a small thing to complain about, but I could totally see how it could be frustrating.
I empathize strongly with this. I think we all know how frustrating it is to be completely forgotten because we're atypical in a specific situation. Everything is targeted at the larger group...

Everything is targeted at the larger group because there's more of them. The minority seems completely forgotten as loads of parties cater to the big group. It sucks. One feels unrecognized, marginalized, unvalued.
It's not ill will, as all the individual folks target the largest group to reach the most people, but that doesn't change that the end result is the smaller group being totally forgotten.
