To make children better fact-checkers, expose them to more misinformation — with oversight

    For parents of Tildes this might seem like a bit of obvious Duh, but nevertheless the way the experiment was designed is very cute. It's just cute fun at that point. And maybe it doesn't even take...

    For parents of Tildes this might seem like a bit of obvious Duh, but nevertheless the way the experiment was designed is very cute.

    But before making their final decision, participants were allowed to fact-check the claim by tapping any number of the aliens, removing their sunglasses and revealing their eyes.

    It's just cute fun at that point.

    And maybe it doesn't even take that much parental involvement.....just....they're gonna watch online media together? In between episodes of Bluey, point to ALL the ads; pause adblocker and show them the horror; watch a late night pundit program by yourself, steal the jokes (with citation), and then show the kids the articles and have a good laugh together about the dumb things adult politicians are trying to get away with; straight up show them side by side news vs misinformation dressed up as news.....and take them to good sources of information, or when in doubt go ask another adult for help fact checking

    The other day, because of CAH's stunt, I dug up Colbert SuperPAC and showed my preteen. Great success.
