DC also appears to be stuck in the unenviable position of trying to leverage their comic IP into movies while forever riding the aftermath of the MCU. Anything they do will be viewed through that lens, regardless of who did it first in the comics back in the day. Or even who did it better.
DC can do a good job. Shazam was awesome, so was The Suicide Squad and peacemaker. For a while, the arrow. Yes it’s the same tale in different clothes, but that doesn’t make it unentertaining....

Just wanted to call out the other comment for complaining that things are repetitive, because that's not a phenomenon unique to DC/Marvel or even movies.
Once a person has seen enough movies or read enough books, you start to see the patterns. And you can either become jaded and complain that "there's nothing new under the sun", or you can dig deeper and enjoy it when someone tells a story you've heard before but tells it in a more interesting way.
