It is not a children's story. It is a creepy/spooky horror adjacent adult short story. I actually found it as a young teen fan of Roald Dahl in the adult section of the library and was very surprised.

I personally love the short story this is based off of and am looking forward to seeing how they treated it in the film.

If you haven't read Roadside Picnic yet, it is also creepy and horror adjacent literature. I highly recommend it.
Henry Sugar read by Martin Jarvis is an absolute pleasure. I'd recommend giving it a listen.
My favourite Dahl story! Whenever I’ve bought it up with friends it’s been completely unknown, looking forward to it getting some love.
