I also really enjoy Kariba. It's a breezy card game where you're playing animals around a watering hole. Plays in maybe 10-15 minutes.

Lastly, I finally played Take 5 or 6 Nimmt last night with 7 people and it was great! Appealed to hardcore boardgamers as a fun, quick game but also the family around the table who WON'T play boardgames found some joy in it.

I've got the EarFun Air Pro 3s. For $60, you can't really go wrong. They aren't the highest quality audio but I'm not an audiophile. They have an app also where you can do a little EQing. They have ANC that, to my ears, is really strong, but I also hate ANC and find it makes me dizzy in general, so that wasn't a selling point for me. The battery life, especially without ANC, is amazing.

Basically, when I did my research, I wanted AirPods but cheaper and not Apple and these have absolutely done that for me. They're no Sennheisers but as a daily active use solution, I've really enjoyed them.

Huge shout out to the Haas boys for keeping it clean and bringing home some amazing points. Komatsu has absolutely been the missing piece for this team.

I don't know that this is going to QUITE give you that experience (which, props to you, I'm way too much of a wimp) but I'm obsessed with the Blue Diamond Wasabi and Soy Sauce Almonds.

So bummed to be away from internet for next weekend's races. Gonna have a LOT to catch up on.

I actually enjoy Slay the Spire (and Monster Train and others like them) because of the random draws. I used to play MtG a ton years ago but I was always exhausted by the seemingly endless choices when building a deck. Games like this are perfect for me because at any one moment, the decision space isn't more than, like, 5 options. In MtG, I would get anxious that I was doing it "wrong" or something. I never feel that with StS. I just go for it!

I used to really struggle with the idea of journaling but I started doing a small journal where I have to write at least 3 bullet points of what I did that day. If I want to say more, totally fine, but the minimum is 3. It helps differentiate each day and feels less overwhelming for me than "just journaling".

Taking a break from Baldur's Gate 3 to play through Sea of Stars and Cocoon on Game Pass

I'm not in love with the pace and aesthetic of Cocoon but the puzzles are so damn good. The whole gimmick are these orbs that you can carry but also that you can enter and explore the worlds within them. It is so expertly crafted that a very overwhelming thing becomes very intuitive

I loved The Messenger so I had to check out Sea of Stars and so far, so good! I don't have a lot of nostalgia for this sort of Chrono Trigger-y type of game but I like the characters and world!

I have two horror recs! They're not fantastic but they're fun and helped me get back into the habit of reading.

    1. The Descent by Jeff Long
If you've seen the movie called The Descent, it was NOT based on this book but it might as well have been. Strange creatures start coming up from caves and sewers. Humans decide to head down and get a LOT more than they bargained for. Kinda goes off the rails towards the end but I couldn't put it down.

    2. The White Road
The first section is the most harrowing cave horror I've ever read. (could you tell I was on a caves kick?) In the later sections, they head to Mt. Everest and it becomes a human vs the elements story which is fun.
