    Barbie missed Film here, which I predicted because it's like last year's Top Gun: Maverick. A hyper populist film that Euros don't really care for.

    Killers of the Flower Moon also under performed here missing Lead Actress, Adapted Screenplay, Director, and Lead Actor. What makes the Lead Actress snub confusing is that there's a jury, who's specific job is to diversify the nominees, and they did not save the Native American actress despite it being their job.

    With Barbie falling by the way side now, the only movie that can conceivably beat Oppenheimer in Picture is The Holdovers. As much as I enjoyed The Holdovers, I really hope that doesn't happen.

      Sorry, but what does "hyper populist" mean? How is Barbie such a film? I live in the EU and in my city Barbie was a real sensation, so I'm not sure what to make of your remark.

        Well it made over a billion dollars and is the highest grossing movie of the year. It appeals to ordinary people and it did so on a large scale. Euros in the film industry (aka those who vote for BAFTA) tend not to like those types of films. They prefer stuff that’s considered more high brow or artsy.
