Amy Winehouse was also writing a song for Quantum of Solace but she was taking too long so they moved on with Jack White and Alicia Keyes. I remember reading that Winehouse released her Bond song but I don't actually know if that's the case.

That means the producers had the option of 24 by Lana Del Rey, Spectre by Radiohead, and they somehow chose Writing’s on the Wall by Sam Smith which was written in a short amount of time.
One can't forget Radiohead's stellar original submission for the same film, Man of War, accepted until the eleventh hour before it was noticed that it wasn't exactly bespoke...

I remember finding Writing on the Wall to be a bit underwhelming when I saw Spectre in theaters. It's a good song, but 24 feels much more fitting for the franchise.

Damn, that Alice Cooper song is excellent and actually would fit pretty well. The song they went with for comparison.

I would LOVE to see a bond tune by Lana Del Rey.
My all time favorite song remains Venice Bitch, which I find to be a masterpiece :)

I always thought Shades of Cool sounded like it would be a great bond song
