This means a 4k Blu-ray will be coming for these movies, right? I was going to watch kpdh but now it might be worth waiting for the full 4k release

The animation is nice, but I don't think 4K is going to add much to it. KPop Demon Hunters is not the type of visual masterpiece that warrants a pristine cinemaphile experience, IMHO. Still a fun...

Still a fun movie, don't get me wrong.

Criterion also means it gets a physical release, period. That's not something every Netflix original gets and is probably going to fund a good chunk of Criterion's budget this year.

That's what I'm hoping for, would love to be able to borrow it from the library one day

Why not? I actually think 3D animated movies benefit the most from resolution increases.

I just watched KPDH this weekend, the video suffers from Netflix bit crushing, particularly the Gwi-ma scenes. I'm pleased we're getting a Blu-ray release, couldn't care less about 4k, just give me enough bits to represent the colors in the frame.

I haven't seen KPDH yet but I was about to this weekend actually, probably gonna wait till this release! I just saw TWICE in concert this past weekend and they performed a song from the movie so I've been more hyped to watch it.

Oh neat! Sounds like they're actually more common than I thought, I'm mostly not watching those shows or and I watched them before it gets the Blu-ray. I would wait if I knew they were gonna do...

But yeah it's a fun time! Would recommend for fans of K-Pop and animation. About to fly out of town and grabbed the soundtrack.

It's great that some Netflix titles are getting the Criterion treatment. I would love to see May December and I'm Thinking of Ending Things get proper physical releases as well.
