What are your favorite movies of 2018 so far?

For me it's Blindspotting, Eighth Grade, Hearts Beat Loud, Isle of Dogs, Ready Player One, and of course Infinity War.

But I did make the effort to see Sorry to Bother You to see if it lived up to the hype and I think critics may actually undersell it. By far my favorite comedy in recent years. Smart, well made, high production value, good acting and a powerful message. Soundtrack is also very good.

RPO is definitely a shallow pop-reference orgy, but so is the book. It's a tasty bit of brain junk food, I enjoyed it. I had not heard of the other films you mentioned, I'll have to give them a try.

But when you add a really fun heart-warming story it results in what has to be one of my favourite films of all time.

Utøya is one hell of a film, about the terrorist attack in Norway. Except for a three minute intro or something the whole thing is just one take (or at least made to look like one), following a girl who's looking for her sister while the shooting starts up and it becomes clear what's happening.

It's beautiful, but devastating. Everyone I know who's seen it has had to take a breather afterwards, to spend some time just sitting and thinking things through (go to a cinema with a bar attached it possible, it'll help)

I think I have only seen Incredibles 2 and Avengers Infinity War. They were both pretty good.

Hey, same here! I unfortunately waited about a month before seeing Infinity War and got indirectly spoiled on the ending, but I still really enjoyed it. The Incredibles 2 was a lot like the first...

The only 2018 movie I've seen in theatres so far was The Death of Stalin, which might not even count since it was released in 2017 (in the UK). It was alright, I suppose. My girlfriend hated it....

But if you have any interest in Cold War or communist history, it's an absolutely pitch-perfect satire.

I watched it and agree with you, it's ok and a good bit of fun but nothing stunning, worth a watch if you can't find anything else to watch. It was wrote by Armando Iannucci who created 'The Thick of It' which I highly recommend, that is one of my favourite TV shows and is a much higher standard, I think it led me to see The Death of Stalin with high expectations which resulted in a bit of a lacklustre feeling.
