I have. I own this cut on DVD. However, it's been a long time since I saw the theatrical version, so I can't really compare them.
This YouTube video mentions that the Donner cut uses some screentest footage for at least one scene - and I have to say it's very noticeable when you're watching the movie. Suddenly, the quality of the image changes, and the actors look different, and so on.
But, overall, the re-cut movie works reasonably well.
Has anyone seen the Richard Donnor cut? It's been about ten years but I remember it being a much better cut of the movie.
