This was really great, thanks for posting! I had also all but given up on more kaptiankristian videos. Having just recently watched Princess Mononoke for the first time, this really highlighted something that I loved about it (and the other Miyazaki films I've watched): The long stretches of film with only background and foley sound. I feel like this is something almost completely absent from Western cinema (and especially animation), and it really does play a huge role in immersing me in the space and adding to either the tension or lack thereof.

kaptainkristian is one of my favorite film video essay creators on youtube, but it's been over a year since his last video... so I was super happy and excited to see this new video pop up in my feed, especially since it's on Miyazaki & Studio Ghibli's films, which are amongst my favorites.

p.s. Though I do find it a bit funny and a tad disappointing that even though this video focuses primarily on good sound editing and sound design, kaptainkristian's voice is pretty muddled and hard to hear at various points. :/
