Homework tunes

What are your favourite songs to play while doing work?
Personally I mostly like songs with no lyrics that have calmer instrumentals or ambient video game soundtracks. I made this Spotify playlist with some friends and I'm curious what resonated with other people :)

I'm like you in that I prefer downtempo stuff. Krüder and Dorfmeister are good for this. I've also been reviewing the LoFi VGM series of video game soundtracks; the Zelda, Yoshi and Deltarune...

Would appreciate links if you have specific ones to recommend.

The soundtracks are all released via Curaga Records: https://curagarecords.bandcamp.com/ They're on Spotify too, not sure about other streaming services. My favourite one is probably the Yoshi one.

Japanese Math Rock to stroll around the cherry blossoms

    First day of spring

Need something more upbeat? Garage music has harkened me back to my childhood when the genere dominated video game sound tracks.

    Ya like jazz?

I'm a fan of faster tracks with lots of kicks, drums, bass, and/or cheesy lyrics. That is, mostly makina/happy hardcore/gabber/hardcore/drum and bass. Anything extremely high energy (preferably above 150 BPM), aggressive, without complex lyrics or far from calm works wonderfully!

Something among the lines of Bass-D, Brisk/Trixxy, Evil Activities, Deadly Guns.

Damnn interesting, that's almost the opposite of me. Is the high energy to get you motivated to do work or more just the style of music? I might give it a shot, I've never tried hardcore music

Mostly the energy, also, the rhythm is quite predictable so it's nice to know what to expect and not have to think much about it

Normally some chill drum n' bass or lofi, occasionally I'll listen to melodic metal of some sort. I've also recently discovered a whole mess of syth mixes on youtube that have some background effects along with different kinds of synthy music, which I think I'll use in the future. I find not having lyrics or only having lyrics I can't understand (foreign language) is very necessary for me to be able to focus.

Pretty much anything by the band Badbadnotgood. Maserati is another solid instrumental band. Though more uptempo. Thomas Barrandon is also killer.
