One of my favorite random YouTube finds, a band named If You Drive By, dropped a new song today. I really enjoy it.
If you haven't listened to them before, give it a go. It's alternative indie in the mid 00s sense and brings some strong nostalgia for me.
I was introduced to The Pretty Wild earlier this week, and it kicked off quite the Metal binge for me. I asked friends for some recommendations, and I've been everywhere in Metal from the old school, King Diamond, to the Power Metal of Unleash the Archers and Rhapsody of Fire.
Otherwise, it's my usual rotation of various EDM and House genres. Specifically I've been loving the gnarly, slowed, and reverbed PHONK.
Vinnum Sabbathi has finally put out some new music after their incredible Of Dimensions And Theories. The new one is a 10" EP called Intersatelitial. It's pretty good! But so far it's no ODAT.
Also just downloaded Charli xcx's brat. I've only listened to 365, and I was surprised that I think I got it. It sounds sort of like the Spice Girls on ketamine lol.
Many years ago when I was studying and working I listened to a lot of electronic/techno and since I was feeling a bit nostalgic lately I took another dive into some hour long tracks by DJ GT. Voices of Time is a good one that brings back that 1999 feeling.
I got tired of having two unskippable ads play on YouTube videos every five minutes (I mostly watch YouTube on my phone). So I decided to get YouTube Premium (which I thought was still called YouTube Red). It comes with YouTube music so I cancelled my Spotify account. I've been listening to a lot of unreleased songs. Symptoms and Stay Away From Me by Sabrina Carpenter. As well as Playing Dangerous by Lana Del Rey.
I'm not an audiophile, but in my opinion YouTube Music has a better sound than Spotify. More song choices, and a better algorithm. I've been recommended a lot of smaller artists which I never really got with Spotify and have been recommended other songs I hadn't heard from artists I already listened to.
