Today's the day! Bruised sky and Unravel have been basically on repeat for me for a while now. She has really impressed me.

Of course my first introduction to her was when she first hit YT with her abstract videos which were interesting but kind of something on the fringes, and I didn't pay much attention. Then she moved into music which was a good pivot, but when she started moving into metal my ears started to perk up. I really enjoy good cleans with hard breakdowns, so her style was pretty much right up my alley. Then V.A.N. and Suffocate came out - I was cemented as a fan by that point.

Very excited to listen to this album over my lunch later today. Great way to start a weekend! (...let's ignore the impending snowpocalypse 2026 looming over the U.S.)

Edit: I am shamed to forget to mention her collab with Amy and Courtney ..... that, to me, was a generational showstopper of a song. It gives me chills listening to it, which I do often. I LOVE both Evanescence and Spiritbox, so when they all collab'd, I was just enamored by that song.

Longtime Amy Lee fan and I only recently discovered Poppy from that collab, and also Spiritbox at the same time. I immediately bought tickets to a Spiritbox show a month out and then consumed all their material over the next few weeks. They were amazing! I was front and center in the pit right in front of Courtney.

I'd love to see Poppy but it looks like all her dates are in Europe for the foreseeable future and I can't afford that.

Oh man I'm so jealous, I haven't been able to go to a concert for over a decade now.. Spiritbox is such a gem, Courtney is incredible. I love her one-takes, in some ways more than the studio...

I love her one-takes, in some ways more than the studio releases. Same with Dayseeker, the vocals these artists are able to produce are just so great, I really need to get to a live show sometime!

The channel that made that list has inserted their own video a couple times in there to get views I guess :/ I think the link should be changed to this:...

My initial opinion of the singles that came out before the album release was "eh, they're fine." Probably because the previous album was not too long ago (14 months?) and the banger collab with Amy and Courtney was still top of mind. I find I'm enjoying them more when taken as part of the whole album.

"Dying to Forget" is currently my stand-out favourite.
