Federal agents search Rep. Ilhan Omar’s home as part of a criminal investigation

Per Fox, a link I won't post here:

Two sources close to the investigation say the search stems from a criminal fraud investigation into the Somali-born congresswoman's immigration paperwork, which was filled out by her late father when she was a child.

So a pre-dawn raid of a Congresswoman's home, just before an election, over an alleged investigation about paperwork that would have been filled out by her father when she was a child...

      It's 2.2 Zacharias to a Scaramucci now.

My favorite take is that it's rude they fire a woman who is just as qualified as everyone else in the administration.

Second favorite is that they fired her before SNL even got a skit off and you know they're having to do rewrites now.

Finally, ew he said she'll work for him in "some form" "maybe a more pleasant form". Ew. Ew. Ew.

Everything he says gets an ew from me. It's the weird way he puckers his mouth into a little circle that always give me the heebie jeebies. Plus usually what he says. What a time to be alive.

Certainly, this was just a particular ew. I hate hearing his actual voice and try to avoid it as much as possible

I didn’t realize Leavitt was out. Was there a story behind that one?

Is that a record for shortest job in the Trump admin? Seems like it, but genuinely unsure because I remember his first term was just a constantly rotating roster.

I guess that was her 15 minutes of fame?

Oh. She also appeared on two Fox news programs.

It is hard to think of anyone who flamed out so publicly and yet so quickly.

In the press release she noted how her husband and four kids had moved up to Washington with her... I guess they are moving back now?

I was thinking of the 5 days, but I suppose most of her work really was just 14 minutes.

I almost feel bad for her. Almost. Being press secretary for Trump has to be one of the hardest jobs in the world with how unfiltered and erratic he is, and that's on a good day. She took the job at one of the most critical times politically AND when he's already under a lot of scrutiny from even his own party. Everyone is out for blood right now, anyone taking that job is basically set up for failure if they're anything less than absolutely perfect.

Hopefully their family can move back and just return to their old lives ASAP. Kids would only miss a week of school at most.

Helpful to know she got the job because she was a hateful, spiteful troll. She trolled Podesta about pedophile conspiracy theories. She claimed Hollywood was full of cannibals.

Trump waives new Russia sanctions in the "national interests"

Trump waives new Russia sanctions in the "national interests"

President Trump waived new sanctions on Russia late Friday night, saying it was in the "national interests" to hold off on the sweeping levies under the Graham Act that he signed just last month.

What they're saying: Republicans and Democrats alike blasted the waiver.

    • "By giving the Russian economy life support, Trump's deal with the devil keeps getting dirtier," Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) wrote.
    • "Trump's latest surrender to Putin again betrays our Ukrainian partners and defies clear congressional intent of legislation designed to punish Russia for its illegal war of aggression," Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.) posted on X.
    • "These waivers have nothing to do with our national security, & everything to do with sucking up to Vladimir Putin. I hope my Republican colleagues will join me in condemning this craven, cowardly action," Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) said on X.
    • "Beyond irresponsible. What part of enforcing a law passed 86-11 by the Senate does the President and his advisors not understand?" Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) posted on X. "It's unconscionable that this administration is capitulating to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians every single day."
    • Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.) posted simply: "Lindsey would be appalled."

Trump ousts Kimberly Guilfoyle as US ambassador to Greece after corruption allegations

Trump ousts Kimberly Guilfoyle as US ambassador to Greece after corruption allegations

Guilfoyle vowed to defend herself against the "false" claims and said the ambassadorship had been the "honour of a lifetime".
A series of text messages seen by the BBC - and first reported by The Wall Street Journal - appear to show Guilfoyle asking for the money from Eric Deters, a long-time Trump ally.
"It won't show up anywhere if you wire money to American Express," she wrote in one Signal message.
In another message - dated just days before her US Senate confirmation hearing last July - Guilfoyle wrote: "Honey please I need you to get this done for me today."

Trump noted on Tuesday that "she, I guess, dated my son a long time ago" but was not like a family member.

Kimberly Guilfoyle Broke Trump’s Most Important Rule

The president doesn’t seem to care about corruption; he cares about embarrassment.

After reading this, I was wondering how long Katie Zacharia was going to last.
