Democrat Haley Stevens endorses GOP’s Mike Rogers in Michigan Senate race
I've been following this race because the podcast I listen to is from Michigan. This is insane.
And she’s lost a lot of her staff as a result.

I saw some news that she's been expelled from the party already but it's unconfirmed right now.
She's murdered her political career for an endorsement that is too late to do anything. I'm sure she's got money enough and can pivot to whatever grift she's lining up. But the absolute fuck
I'm guessing the AIPAC check cleared, it's actually so insane.
I don't think there's an amount of money that can buy as unforced an error as a cross party endorsement against the person who bested you in the primary. It's personal and/or she's trying to pivot to the Fox correspondence track.
or she's just getting ready to move to the united states of israel, after all she sees it in her dreams.
Stevens is just saying the soft parts that were her primary campaign points out loud.
She's always been both pro-corporate (member of the New Democrat Coaltition) and pro-Israel, to the extent that she primaried another (actually Jewish, pro-labor, pro-human rights*) Democratic Congressman out of his seat with AIPAC funding in 2022, after Michigan lost a seat in the 2020 census.
Stephens came from wealth, and has been a not-very-effective party insider for so long that she clearly felt entitled to win. She's taking her hurt feelings out on everyone. May she sink into well-earned obscurity.
*Full disclosure: The Levins, multiple generations, were friends of my family. Dynastic politics don't thrill me, but Andy Levin was the real progressive deal throughout his time in Congress. I've had negative sentiments towards Stevens since that time for pushing out a much better person and Representative, and supporting Mike Rogers is a complete betrayal of Michigan and the country.
Kennedy Makes Bigoted Remarks About Arabs at Michigan Campaign Event
Seems like the racists have shifted focus from having latinos in their crosshairs to having southeast Asians and Muslims. Almost like more people are starting to see through all their bullshit.
If your movement gets critical backing from racist fervor, it can't be allowed to stop. The Latino deportations have gone less visible - still happening in large numbers, but not being made a spectacle of, so the racist ra-ra around them has receeded. So they have to pick a new target for the supporters to rally hate for.
Sadly given human nature, if the economic challenges were less obviously caused by Trump, I think that strategy would be working well.
