I would like to see the consequences of Musk's endless hubris finally catch up with him, though I'm not proud of myself for feeling that way. However, sometimes people need to get taken down a notch for their own good, and hopefully this will help Musk see the need to put a check on his own less positive impulses.

Still, there were warning signs. As we danced at our wedding reception, Elon told me, "I am the alpha in this relationship."
Elon's judgment overruled mine, and he was constantly remarking on the ways he found me lacking. "I am your wife," I told him repeatedly, "not your employee." "If you were my employee," he said just as often, "I would fire you."
That is why I was so distraught when I read the recent blog post promoting the UAW, which does not share our mission and whose true allegiance is to the giant car companies, where the money they take from employees in dues is vastly more than they could ever make from Tesla.
There’s one color, though, that some of Tesla’s former safety experts wanted to see more of: yellow – the traditional hue of caution used to mark hazards. Concerned about bone-crunching collisions and the lack of clearly marked pedestrian lanes at the Fremont, California, plant, the general assembly line’s then-lead safety professional went to her boss, who she said told her, “Elon does not like the color yellow.”
That's like verbal abuse. At least some sort of manipulation of sorts... Either way, what the fuck!?

The way he treated his ex-wife was pretty bad. He would say things like "I am the alpha in this relationship" and "If you were my employee, I would fire you" to her.
But also, has he previously done anything else as bad as this diver/pedo disaster?

Elon also has a history of going directly after his critics and using the internet to doxx them and then using that information to threaten lawsuits against him and his employer: Montana Skeptic

I can't help but think that Vernon Unsworth might've let it go if Musk had just apologized and shut his mouth, but instead Musk taunted him weeks after the event... It's just such a dumb,...

Ken White made a post on the Popehat blog yesterday with a bit more info about the case and his thoughts on it: https://www.popehat.com/2018/09/17/cave-diver-vernon-unsworth-sues-elon-musk/
He says this: I'm not sure if the US 2010 SPEECH law is still in effect or not, but if it is he can't sue in the UK and enforce it in the US. Here's the current English defamation law:...
He says this:
Musk will have a much grimmer time in England, which has far less speech-protective laws, if Unsworth sues there.

This is probably off-topic, but I can't help but wonder, is Elon happy? The modern Western culture says, that being happy is "easy": work hard on what you're passionate about and bring positive...

The modern Western culture says, that being happy is "easy": work hard on what you're passionate about and bring positive change to the world. Musk seems to (mostly) do exactly that. Yet, this all doesn't sound like a happy man to me.

Three cheers for self-awareness :) But also, has he previously done anything else as bad as this diver/pedo disaster?

This law was brought in to make the English law more compatible with the US SPEECH law.

This is like game of thrones but in real life and where the stakes are much lower. I can't wait to see what happens next.
