What’s left to say? We all know who he is, and until he’s president again there’s not much new to say about him. Not to mention, this last election showed that no one gives a shit what celebrities have to say anyway, as many of the worlds biggest endorsed Kamala and it didn’t make a lick of difference.
Yeah the article mentions "if Taylor and Oprah can't convince people, what can I do" which is a valid feeling tbh. I'd just rather see people saying "here's things you can do" rather than "no one...

I think you’ll see more of that once he’s actually inaugurated and starts putting plans into motion. But there’s also a sense of “hey this what America wanted” until people actually start feeling the pain there's not much convincing that can be done. It’s all hypothetical right now. I know that my parents who voted for him are in “let him cook” mode right now, and until they realize they are the ones being cooked they aren’t likely to change their tune. A lot of his voters don’t care about anything until it affects them personally, but I think a lot of them are in for a rude awakening soon.
As I said elsewhere, there are things people can do now rather than waiting and letting potential grocery tariffs or immigrant mass deportations hit without any ground work. Maybe these actions...

It's a messaging thing I'm tired of. We can all take a break and regroup, but that shouldn't IMO be punctuated with "why is everyone taking a break and regrouping" every five minutes.
Yeah I get it, there’s certainly always work that can be done, but just remember that a lot of the people that would do that work already did a lot of work before the election and deserve a break,...

For sure, but a lot of my frustration is focused on the people who are not doing that but who are looking around going "why aren't people doing things" or who engage with politics only to complain...
For sure, but a lot of my frustration is focused on the people who are not doing that but who are looking around going "why aren't people doing things" or who engage with politics only to complain every 4 years about not being represented. It's not that either isn't a valid complaint on the face it's that those folks, the ones who weren't doing the work before, could engage with actual work instead of being like ┐(´ー`)┌ about the whole thing.
My criticism is definitely not directed at activists and organizers and such taking a break, like I said, a lot of us needed to even if we weren't in that space.
Idk Hollywood Reporter, why don't you say something, or ask the celebrities in question? It feels like the whole country is going "won't someone do something?" Just do the thing. Be the...

Just do the thing. Be the "resistance" or the opposition party or whatever.
It's tough to play defense before the ball is in play. Also there is something to be said for not showing your cards or giving away your strategies. Everyone is waiting for Trump to be in office...

Everyone is waiting for Trump to be in office and try to do things before fighting those specific things if possible.
There are things individual people can in fact do now though! Volunteer! Call and "yell" at your stupid GOP house rep. Get involved with a group on a single issue - abortion access, trans rights,...
There are things individual people can in fact do now though! Volunteer! Call and "yell" at your stupid GOP house rep. Get involved with a group on a single issue - abortion access, trans rights, voting rights. We do not have to wait for the government to do stuff and we definitely don't have to wait 2/4 years for the next election.
In the meantime, people could stop writing the think pieces about why no one is saying something. The people actually working ground level are not posting a ton on Facebook and are not drawing attention from conservative politicians on purpose but there are people doing and saying things. Idk it's just frustrating that everyone is pissed about their options every 4 years but usually they're not doing stuff in between.

Because they are the "Circuses" part of "Bread and Circuses." A critical source of distraction to avoid a mass uprising.
