Is the Helsinki meeting the tipping point for US politicians?
From what I've seen, it has had a universally bad reaction. From D. From R. From every news network out there. Is this the tipping point?

It'll die down by the end of the week. The Republicans will give some nebulous condemnations, the democrats will insist that something needs to be done, and then a few days we'll switch to being outraged that Trump hit on a British MP or some shit.
Bernie Sanders publicly calling Trump an idiot is probably the biggest response that will come from this.
I am pretty jaded, but this may have been a major moment. For me, the main thing is what the GOP news bubble repeats to their viewers. And for once it is not all 100% pro-Trump. It is just 99.9% pro-Trump.

At this point, I don't see why it would be. It's been two years and it's not like he hasn't been fellating Russia for his entire presidency and candidacy.
I'm starting to think Trump was right when he said "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters." Nothing he does seems to be bad enough for people to take action against him.
I think the only thing he could do that could cause his base to jump ship would be to act like a decent and intelligent human being.
John Kasich said (words to the effect that) he needs to apologize. I'm convinced the man's never apologized for anything, at least not since becoming a candidate and becoming President. I've worked with people like that; people who when demonstrably shown they are incorrect, will never admit it, nor apologize for it. They seldom change.

What do you mean by the tipping point? It doesn't seem like this Congress is willing to impeach. The real tipping point will be on November 6 if enough people can manage to vote.

You're welcome. Be sure to vote! It's easy, and you can even do it by mail. There's no excuse for anyone who cares about this country to give up their vote, and that's exactly the way I state it to people who don't seem to care: you're giving up your voting right. It's that simple. Let your voice be heard.
Democrats better make it a huge voting issue leading up to November. When the hell did "soft on Russia" become something the Republican voting base wants? Every Trump-supporting politician better be called soft on Russia at every debate.
I don't see why it would be. Those with the power do do anything about it (the republicans) are extremely happy with trump. He's appointing extremist judges throughout the judicial system, extending the war on minorities and immigrants, stripping all sorts of regulations, and making the rich more rich.
Last I checked he's at ~85% approval rating with republican voters. Generally speaking, republicans LOVE this guy.
It will be interesting to watch the polls over the next week or so... I looked at foxnews' site this morning and this is about the first time I can remember that they had 3-4 out of 5 top stories that are somewhat critical of Trump e.g., the top story is how only Rand Paul is defending him, so... small victories. I definitely believe that you turned off the Fox Trumpet-train of constant praise, at least some people's opinions would change...
In addition, Trump's polls have been so static and unchanging -- basically since Charlottesville and the whole failed healthcare repeal -- that any swing would be very interesting.

Another factor which may affect his polling are the very real consequences of Trumps ham-fisted tariffs and the counter reaction by nations which at least in part target states that carried Trump in the election. Its costing farmers and businesses money and casting an uncertain future. It is early in the tit for tat 'trade wars', I expect the consequences to deepen.
There were talks about Farmers receiving a bailout, but with what's going on now it might not get any coverage.
Oh, more "big government" and deficit spending while Republicans are in power. How shocking.
I put on Fox News at three different points yesterday, and almost every mention of him was negative except during Hannity who quintupled down on his support for Trump.
That's interesting. Sounds Fox News sees the writing on the wall and are fleeing ship. Though at this point nothing would surprise me.
Have you looked at r/the_donald lately?? They're just saying Fox has been corrupted. Even Fox questioning what's going on isn't enough for those guys. They just want to see America burn. It's quite scary to watch.
I seriously doubt this is a tipping point of any sorts. The republicans certainly don't care what he does, so long as he has such a high approval rating with voters in the party. I don't think his voters will abandon him over this, and all of them I've talked to don't believe or don't care about the election interference. Fox News may seem a bit critical of him right now, but that won't last.
The only true tipping point is if the blue wave really happens, and happens big. I know most people think it will, but I wouldn't be so sure. If everyone is all convinced it'll happen there is a chance people in important districts won't vote, similar to when Trump was first elected in 2016. Everyone was saying Hillary had a 75-100% chance to win and a lot of people thought "well why bother?"
