MLB World Series 2023 - Texas Rangers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
Rangers and Diamonbacks fans may be few and far between on Tildes, but I figured it's worth a shot!
Let's use this post to discuss the battle of the underdogs.
As for myself, I'm a lifelong Rangers fan, which is to say I'm used to misery. It's a bit surreal to be back in the WS after such a crazy end to the regular season AND postseason.
I'll stoop to being petty: being an Atlanta fan SO disappointed, go D-backs, and suck it Philly!
I'm a Jays fan but I have a real big soft spot for the Braves (AA is an amazing GM) and love to cheer for them in the NL. The Braves/Phillies rivalry is going to be so fun to watch for the next few years.
Have to say disappointed that I felt Baker managed the Astros out of a world series, but rooting for the Sneks to take it, they were my NL team this season and as if I'd root for a division rival just because they were also in Texas (if it was San Antonio maybe but Dallas haha nope)
I'm pulling 100% for Arizona. The fact that Texas is such a bigoted organization means I could never bring myself to root for them.
They're still the only MLB team without a pride night, and it gets so much worse:

Can you expand on "it gets so much worse:"?
The colon at the end of your statement indicates that the link is going to provide a bunch of damning facts about how bigoted the organization is, but it just states how they don't celebrate Pride Night -- exactly what you already stated. What is the "so much worse" that I am missing here?
I am a Rangers fan and I'm very excited to be back in the world series. This team is so much fun to watch when they're on (and so frustrating to watch when they're not).
I understand and agree with criticism of the team ownership and their views, and some of my fellow Rangers fans - like a certain former president who threw out a first pitch yesterday) - are people I'd have a lot of disagreements with. But although I am far away from Texas these days, I still love this team through the good years and the bad, and this is sure a good year.
I am replying to myself because I can't believe it! The Rangers have won the World Series! It feels incredible. It has been a wonderful season and I am just so happy for the guys on this team.
After the second game, I didn't have high hopes but, man, they really wanted a nail biter for this one! It was anybody's game right up until the end.
