Detroit finally got their much needed production replacement for Betruzzi. I'm excited to see what Larkin+Debrincat is going to cook up.

The trade and signing was also a masterful piece of negotiating by Steve Yzerman. To lose no core pieces, still have a 1st round pick, and get a great value short contract are all things that did not seem likely over the past weeks. Lots of promise in Detroit.

This season will help show what's still missing, and where the gaps are. I'd be pretty happy to squeak a wildcard this season.

I don’t think it hurts that he’s from there and will be close to family again, especially with a young kid.

Not a bad return for Ottawa considering that we knew he wasn't sticking around. The conditions on that first round pick make my head spin a bit but I don't see Boston falling enough to pick in the top 10 so I'm guessing that the pick they end up getting will be in the middle of the first round.

I don't know anything about Sebrango, is he expected to make the NHL?

Here is his elite prospects page. Looks like he's in the between minors and AHL right now. A bit of a project by the looks of things, but might be a "change of scenery does a guy some good" type...

We recouped a 1st (albeit a lower 1st in all likelihood) and added a 20G guy in Kubalik, who will fit well in the middle six. I personally wasn't interested in Debrincat at the 8-9M he probably would have demanded to stay in Ottawa, so turning him into a cheaper player + a pick is a win in my books.

Best to him in Detroit but I'm glad this saga is done and the team can focus on moving forward with the pieces we got! Another middle six forward is critical for the Sens; the depth was abysmal last year.

What a great shot he has. I hope I get a chance to watch him some this year. I don't generally have the time to watch anymore (they're three hours long, after all), but I'll try to watch at least a few games. My 13 year-old self (who watched every single game and wore a Red Wings shirt to school every day) is appalled at what he has become!

Blackhawks fan here. He is an awful lot of fun to watch -- and he can be surprisingly scrappy, too. He can be absolutely lethal on the PP. Take good care of him!
