Huge news in the Hockey sphere, general expectation was he was going to have another monster deal, more so in light of the deal that Kirill Kaprizov recently signed for($17m AAV), but instead he's essentially extended his current $12.5m deal for another two years.
Also extra context, his current deal was 15.72% of the salary cap when signed, the new one will be 12.02%.
"This centimillionaire doesn't want to get even richer!? Shocker!!" It's absurd this is even met with shock. I do think their article is otherwise fair: it probably does mean he's putting money...

It's absurd this is even met with shock. I do think their article is otherwise fair: it probably does mean he's putting money where his mouth is, pun partially intended, since this is generally not done as much as they would have you believe they're all in it for the game.
This deal is an insane discount for him. From what I can tell, this seems to be a "I believe we are close, I want to win in Edmonton, but if we don't get it done in the next 2 years I'm going to...

Looking this up, apparently this is the more common term, but it bugs me to read this instead of "hectomillionaire". I'm at least comforted knowing that there was a pointless back-and-forth on wikipedia with others as bothered as I am...

"Centi-" definitely threw me for a minute. "Wait, this professional sports player is a ten-thousand-aire? Oohhh…"
The problem with "hecto-" is that the only common unit to use it is the hectare, which is a special form and doesn't actually contain the whole prefix.
Despite the Wikipedia argument above, I think the standard way to say this in English is just "hundred-millionaire".

These are conveniently placed every... Hectometer, as positional indicators. Useful when calling emergency services. Radio hosts also tend to use these to inform people of traffic or speedtraps and will frequently say traffic has slowed between hectometerpole X and Y.
We also use hectare but aside from those two examples, hecto is rarely used anywhere else.
Incredible and I love it. If Bowman and Jackson fail to get him and Draisaitl a roster that secures a cup, they should both be banished forevermore from the world of hockey and stripped of all...

I dislike every person in that conversation intensely after a very short exposure.
god's teeth
I'm either/or on the topic. Hecto would be more appropriate in my own language but I assumed centi would be more widely recognised.
