Formula 1 US Grand Prix 2023 - Results
I don't know about you all, but I thought that was a great race. The tire strategies featured very prominently again, though for typical degradation reasons instead of Qatar's safety reasons. Some surprising moves made it an exciting race all the way to the end.
EDIT: Updated the results due to the news of post-race DQs for HAM and LEC. (Thanks @deknalis)

F1 heads "South of the Border" to Mexico City next weekend (Nov. 3-5).
Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton have been disqualified from the GP for not meeting plank wear regulation. (Source)
Leclerc needs to visit a witch doctor and do some kind of ceremony, the bad luck is truly on another level.
This also marks the first point for Logan Sargeant, who is now promoted to P10, and the first point for an American driver since Michael Andretti in 1993.
Wow. I don't say this very often, but poor Hamilton. All that to get it taken away. At the same time, who's to say that a lower ride height didn't contribute to Hamilton getting on Max's heels? Team let him down big time.
And unfortunately I do say this often, but poor Leclerc. I don't know if a witch doctor is going to be enough for that man.

At least it got us a funny Instagram post.
Really enjoyed that race even though it was a huge letdown to see Max recover towards the end. Lando has a great car under him now (or it seems as such) so it's also surprising to see how effective Mercedes' changes have been this weekend. McLaren will need to stay on their toes if they want to continue being #2.
I'm a Max/RB fan, but I was ready for the Lando P1 to finally happen. But Max gonna Max.
And with the way Mercedes is looking, maybe we'll get a bit of a replay of Abu Dhabi 2021 (or 2021, in general) for the rest of the season. Max may have won the WDC already, but he may not be done putting in the work.
Points for Yuki! I've been pulling for him all season and he's had so many unlucky breaks, week after week. Great to see him sneak into the points today.
The racing is so much better with Max in the mix and not in the lead. THere's a clear separation between the front half of the grid and the back, though.
I wish they would do more to promote F2. Instead of sprints, which are often a waste of time / unnecessary risk, getting people in to F2 as a secondary event would be idea. Its great racing -- F3, too, but few watch it or even have access to it from home.
Overall, good race today. I wish they'd mic up the cool down room / Max's podcast better.
