Bravo kfwyre! You genuinely got a snort of laughter out of me with that. Thank you for the kind sentiments.

Whoa, congrats!!! I was wondering why there was such a noticeable gap in your presence here. ;) It's pretty rare that I have to do much tagging of other people's topics, or editing their titles...

I was wondering why there was such a noticeable gap in your presence here. ;) It's pretty rare that I have to do much tagging of other people's topics, or editing their titles into sentence case. This weekend was the first time in a very long time that you hadn't already beaten me to most of it though. :P

Haha, thank you cfabbro. That means a lot to me! And also slightly worries me that I might have inadvertedly become an omnipresent entity in the back corridors of Tildes. 🙃

Rarely seen commenting in public, but omnipresent in the topic logs. I have come to call them the ghost of "Someone else edited simultaneously, please cancel and retry". ooooooOOOoooOO ;)

Prepping to take my driver's license test in a week or so. There are some weird intersections out there.

If possible, try to find the test route. I wound up asking my brother when I did my test because it's in an area I don't typically go through, so I needed to know if there were any weird things where I was likely to test. There were, and I was ready for them.

It's not to try to do the equivalent of braindumping the test, but being ready for any weird cases you have no practical exposure to. Good luck!

Saturday was running errands, fixing my wife's car in the parking lot of her job, scaring her new coworkers into thinking it was being stolen, rearranged things in the workshop to fit my Tercel in there because the city's code compliance division has it out for me (and every other person in my area), and had dumpling dinner with friends.

Sunday, had a massage, lunch with my mother in law, cut down a tree that partially collapsed onto a child's playhouse because of the ice storm, and moved the Tercel into the workshop.

Next weekend is LAN weekend with the guys.

Went to the beach. Turned out to be a terrible idea. Horizontal rain. Near-freezing temperatures. We did have a very delicious indoor lunch with some friends we haven't seen for ages before getting drenched and cold, so that was nice. The kids enjoyed the beach during the 6-8 minutes when it wasn't pouring with rain, and we eventually went and took shelter in a neon beachfront arcade where my kid had his first go on Mario Cart (although he couldn't reach the pedals and didn't really understand the steering but we had fun), so it wasn't all bad by any means.

At least there was plenty of parking space because most people had wisely stayed home.

I did some housework. I moved into this apartment 3 months ago and I still had a few boxes in the kitchen, so I unboxed everything and put most of it away. At least there are no more boxes that I'm having to maneuver or jump around.

Last week, I did a bunch of laundry of clothes, towels, and bedsheets. Some of this was dirty laundry I brought with me from my previous apartment! I still have a couple more loads to do this week. Anyway, over the weekend, I actually folded or hung everything up. I usually just live out of the laundry baskets. This also made me unpack/clean up the master closet as well. Finally looking more lived in around here.

Lastly, I finished a blogpost on some Homelab stuff I've been working on. And even started a new Homelab project of trying to stand up an OpenVPN server. Though It's a lot more work than I was expecting.

All in all, a very productive weekend.
