The Ontario provincial election happens June 7, 2018 - thoughts?

As an Ontarian in the Oshawa riding, I’m undecided. I really don’t see that any of the big three (NDP, Liberal, PC) deserve my vote. I wonder what other Canadians in Ontario think of the upcoming election.

I will likely be begrudgingly voting NDP/Horwath, despite being old enough to remember the train wreck that was the Bob Rae government, merely because the other choices are even less appealing....

Wynne and the Liberal's history of privatizing vital public services, and now threatening to do so with Public Transportation as well, is enough for me to discount them entirely this cycle. Many of their recent election promises are enticing (e.g. further exploring UBI, free preschool childcare, etc...) but it's too little, too late. It may have helped if they hadn't only started making them once they started panicking and realizing they weren't going to win, but even then... probably not.

Doug Ford is... well, Doug Ford. I don't think it really needs to be explained why voting for him is batshit insane. The man is a complete idiot and I don't care how many other "smart" PC party members there are that will "keep him in check" as my father likes to claim.

it's so insulting that he won't release a full platform so PC voters know exactly what they're buying into. like I'm a "never kiss a tory" kind of girl but I feel deeply offended for them.

This is a big problem.. and I’m leaning PC in the election too. Perhaps you could say “There’s no costing because Wynne’s books need to be seen first” - but the PCs know what their own promises...

And, as of advanced voting day, the PC platform and associated costs did not exist on the PC website (or anywhere else). The seemed very amateurish to me. They’ve since explained costs, but not where they expect revenue.

        Brutal.

I agree, none of them deserve your vote. And it sucks ass that this keeps happening, over and over again, “vote for the person who’s most able to beat the giant fucking dumpster fire!” But... that’s what this is. The NDP is the only non-insane way to vote.
